The Damned Don't Cry was loosely based on the life of Virginia Hill who was the girlfriend of Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel who was killed in her house in Hollywood on June 20,1947 while she was conveniently away.

Fabulous film i love it i felt so sorry for ethel losing her son so suddenly.

This is a terrific film noir. It was very intelligently written ,very well directed( third corporation of joan and Vince Sherman)...and deserves more attention as one of the better Film Noir pieces. Its cynical view of life, snappy dialog and betrayals make it a must see film...i really like it that Joan Crawford payed so much attention to her physic and beauty , prefect body fresh skin energetic presence ...no matter how old she was ,she made every scene interesting
